Great news for all Wii U owners, the Rayman Legends demo is out now on the Nintendo eShop so get downloading. Sounds a bit strange to be getting all excited about a demo but Rayman Legends was set to be the Wii U killer app in my opinion before it was pushed back until March 2013. It was certainly the most heart breaking news of 2012 outside various development teams being closed down.
Rayman Legends takes full advantage of the innovative Wii U GamePad controller to explore fresh multiplayer gameplay experiences and expand beyond the traditional platformer genre. Players can use the Wii U GamePad to discover new ways to navigate through the game with touch–based gameplay to take out enemies or clear paths and gyroscope technology to manipulate and rotate platforms. The GamePad also allows you to continue the adventure of Rayman and his friends on the controller screen even while the television is off.
Don’t worry about the press release, it’s actually telling the truth because there’s more innovative use of the Wii U GamePad in the first two minutes than there is in New Super Mario Bros U in it’s entirety. The demo is just over 500Mb and allows you to play through three different levels including a very cool musical based one. I guess the only bad news here is that the demo is limited to 30 plays though that should be enough for most players.
