Probably not the most shocking news of the week but a special edition of Injustice Gods Among Us has been revealed. It appears that these days anyone releasing a retail title has some kind of special edition to go with the game. Usually the publishers love to sell you all sorts of cheap plastic items that you’ll never make use of but for Injustice Gods Among Us the special edition is a little more basic.
The special edition of Injustice Gods Among Us will contain the following.
- Exclusive Steelbook™
- Red Son DLC Pack inspired by DC Comics’ Red Son comic novel, including:
- 3 alternate Red Son character skins: Superman, Wonder Woman and Solomon Grunday
- 20 additional missions set within the Red Son storyline
- A copy of the game
As you can see this special edition is basically a steelbook with a couple of bonus DLC packs, personally I’m a big fan of steelbooks as the plastic the games come in these days is horrible flimsy. My friend’s copy of SoulCalibur V basically fell apart after two days so for the sake of getting something that will actually hold I’d recommend going for the special edition.
Oh you want my opinion on the cover? Well it looks okay I guess, the red background looks slightly worse than the black background seen in the standard edition. I would of gone with a comic book style drawing myself instead of 3D game renders but whatever, the game should be loads of fun when it launches on April 19th. The special edition will launch alongside the standard version on that same date.
