The team behind Injustice: Gods Among Us have released the first video trailer in their behind the scenes look at the game. Injustice: Gods Among Us is being developed by NetherRealm Studios who you may remember brought us that Mortal Kombat game in 2011 that for the first time in the series wasn’t actually a terrible game. Actually Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks were pretty good so let’s give some credit where it’s due.
Given the success of the latest Mortal Kombat title you’d think the team would get started on a sequel right away but instead we have Injustice: Gods Among Us which in some ways could be seen as a sequel to Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe but realistically speaking this game looks way better than that one ever did. You won’t find horrible fatalities in Injustice: Gods Among Us but you will have access to Street Fighter style super moves instead,
The main two reasons why Injustice: Gods Among Us stands out is because it’s a fighting game designed by a western studio, usually the fighting genre is dominated by Japanese developers so it’s cool to see something different. Also as you might of already seen before Injustice: Gods Among Us features very interactive environments, you could say it’s basically the game’s selling point outside the DC license of course.
At the moment Injustice: Gods Among Us is due out in April 2013 though no exact release date has been announced yet. You’ll be able to play it on your PS3, Xbox 360 or even Wii U so pretty much everyone outside PC users will be able to get in on the action. From the looks of it if you enjoyed the Mortal Kombat game from last year then Injustice: Gods Among Us should be worth a look, I’m certainly excited.
