Trine 2 Complete Story Announced For PlayStation 4

Trine 2 600 x 300

Earlier today Finnish game developer Frozenbyte announced Trine 2 Complete Story for the PlayStation 4. Originally we’d seen the game on the PlayStation 3 but since then Trine 2 has seen some upgrades and so the “complete” experience comes to the PlayStation 4.

What’s great about a PlayStation 4 port of Trine 2 is that it now allows Forzenbyte to go all out in the visual department. You thought the Wii U port was great, how does seeing Frozenbyte’s incredible art running at 1080p, 60FPS sound to you?

  • Three heroes – the Wizard, the Thief and the Knight – in a story-driven adventure full of fantasy.
  • Physics-based puzzles with fire, water, gravity and magic.
  • Plenty of skills and abilities to solve puzzles in different play styles.
  • Intuitive control system designed to take full advantage of the PS4 controller’s touch surface.
  • Online and local co-op with up to three players.
  • Includes the expansion Trine 2: Goblin Menace.
  • Includes the Dwarven Caverns level, unlocked by collecting secret map pieces.
  • 20 exciting levels in total, ranging from lush forests to a burning desert, to the insides of a giant sand worm.
  • Beautiful graphics in Full HD 1080p, 60 fps.
  • Stereoscopic 3D support.

I’ve already picked up Trine 2 Director’s Cut on Wii U so I don’t think I’ll be… screw it, I’m TOTALLY double dipping. Sadly no release date has been announced but the official press release does state that Frozenbyte is aiming to make the PlayStation 4 launch. I can’t see it making the North American launch but the European launch on November 29th seems much more likely.

Be sure to keep an eye out for this one, it’s bound to be one of the PlayStation 4′s highlights this year. Especially with Watch Dogs and DriveClub being delayed until 2014.
