505 Games, of ARMA and Payday fame, have announced the release of Terraria for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Terraria is an indie sandbox adventure that places an emphasis on exploration and crafting in randomly generated 2d worlds. Terraria has been a big success since it’s release in May 2011 on PC and Spring 2013 for consoles. The PC version sold an estimated 50,00 copies on it’s first day with 200,000 sold over it’s first week which kept Portal 2 and The Witcher 2 off the top spot.
Terraria for mobile devices will feature over a dozen environments, Game Center leader boards, achievements and Facebook integration for those of you inflicted with a social disposition.
The controls have been redesigned specifically for iPhone/Pod/Pad and the overall experience has been optimised to suit the smaller screen.
Terraria is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch via the App store for £3.99. For more on the game check out the official site.
