It’s been a long time coming but Punch-Out’s Little Mac will finally be a playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros for Wii U & 3DS. If you ask me then I personally think he should of been a playable character in Super Smash Bros Brawl but it’s great to see the little guy finally get his due.
The trailer starts off with a comic book style art work showcasing Little Mac doing some serious training before jumping into the game and proceeding to whoop everyone’s ass. Is it fair to say Smash Bros have found it’s own version of Street Fighter’s Dudley? The move that Little Mac performs on 1:34 is totally rocket uppercut.
Beyond the amazing Punch-Out theme rendition and the focus on Little Mac, the trailer itself doesn’t show us anything else nor is footage of the 3DS version shown. It’s the best Super Smash Bros trailer to date and does a better job at hyping up the game but a little vague release date at the end would’ve been nice.
As it currently stands, much like Bayonetta 2 and X, Nintendo isn’t talking release dates when it comes to Smash Bros. I’m starting to think this one will be arriving later in the year rather than sooner but hey, surprise me Nintendo.
