Mirrors Edge 2 has been revealed by DICE after their impressive demonstration of Battlefield 4. The video was a mixture of gameplay and some CGI showing some combat and free-running in the always impressive Frostbite 3 engine. This is another sequel that many feared would never see the light of day, and similarly to Star Wars Battlefront, the audience was very appreciative of the little we were shown.
The video cut between Faith being tattooed and taking on various bad guys and some free-running, basically doing what Mirrors Edge was best at. The updated engine made the environments look very crisp, and the stark, bleak aesthetic themes were as impressive as the first time round.
Whilst there was no confirmation of which platforms it would be on and a release date of “when it’s ready” you could put money on Mirrors Edge 2 being a PS4, Xbox One release, with the possibility of a PC port through Origin. There might be a wait, but it might be an experience worth holding on for.
We’ll update this page as and when more details are released.
